Privacy policy
In short: Station Alert has no account, no ads, no analytics and no third-party SDKs. The app connects to istralo.com only to check for updates. Your location and journey information stay on your phone.
To tell you when an update is available, the app downloads a small file from istralo.com listing the latest version. The request carries no personal information. Like any web request, it reveals your IP address to our host (Cloudflare), which we don't log or use.
Who we are
Station Alert is published by Istralo, the name under which Kiran Kashapwar, an independent developer based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, publishes apps (“we”, “us”). For anything about this policy or your data, write to hello@istralo.com.
What Station Alert handles on your phone
- Precise location. Used while the app is in use, continuing in the background during a journey you start. It is used only on your phone to work out which station you’re at and when to alert you. It is never sent anywhere or shared, and no location history is kept. When the journey ends, tracking stops.
- Your chosen city and recent destinations. Saved only on your phone. Recent destinations are limited to a few station names.
- The journey in progress. The route and progress by station are saved only on your phone so the journey can resume after the app restarts. This does not include raw GPS coordinates.
- Whether you’ve seen the intro. Saved only on your phone.
Uninstalling Station Alert deletes all of this saved information.
Notifications and Live Activity
Alerts for your next stop, a change of trains and your arrival are local notifications created on your phone. There is no push server.
The Live Activity shows journey progress on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. It is handled by iOS on your device.

Station Alert has no ads, analytics or third-party SDKs.
What we keep
We keep no personal information from Station Alert. Cloudflare hosts the version file described above; we don't log or use the IP address revealed by the update check.
Your choices and rights
We hold no personal data from the app, so there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete. To remove everything Station Alert stores on your phone, uninstall it.
If you have a question about how your personal data is handled — including your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — email hello@istralo.com. We will reply within 30 days.
Children
Station Alert is a general transport utility and is not directed at children under 13. We keep no personal data from anyone using the app.
Security
Your location and saved journey information stay on your phone. The update check uses an encrypted HTTPS connection to istralo.com.

Station data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Line order comes from Wikipedia.
Changes to this policy
If Station Alert’s handling of information changes, we will update this page before that version of the app is released and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
