DeTour
In development · iPhone and Android
Chat without saving.
DeTour opens a WhatsApp chat with any phone number. No new contact, no clutter in your address book.
Three steps. That’s it.
- 1
Pick the country
Choose from every country and region, or just include the code in the number.
- 2
Type or paste the number
However it’s written: with +, 00, spaces or dashes. Tap Paste to drop it straight in.
- 3
Open WhatsApp
Edit the “Hi 👋” if you like. The chat opens in WhatsApp, and you decide when to send.
Small, and careful about it.
245 countries and territories
Every country and region in the international phone-number database.
Reads numbers as people write them
Spaces, dashes, + or 00 prefixes, and digits from other writing systems.
Nothing saved but your country
Numbers and messages aren’t kept, and there’s no history of who you messaged.
No contacts permission
No account, no sign-up, and no access to your address book.
- It isn’t anonymous. Once the chat opens, it’s a normal WhatsApp chat. Your WhatsApp privacy settings decide what the other person sees.
- It’s free, with a small ad. The ad sits below the controls and never stops you opening a chat.
- It’s independent. DeTour is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.
DeTour isn’t in the app stores yet.
It’s coming to iPhone and Android. Want to hear when it’s ready? Send us a note.
